Carrots!

Our ward has a wonderful garden that we can help ourselves to at harvest time!  Well, Alicia brought home a huge garbage bag full of carrots and here we are, sitting in the driveway trimming them up!  They were delicious and the kids had a great time munching on them! 

Today, I canned 10 pints of carrots!  I wanted to use them and decided that I could bottle them up and use them for soups, stews, carrot muffins, cakes, etc!  They turned out perfect and we're headed out there Friday  morning to harvest some more!  They also have a ton of snap peas ready...any ideas????

Jessica and Emily had their dance recital on Friday night.  This was Em's first year in dance and she took a ballet class.  She has LOVED it and looked forward to it every week.  She had no fear dancing in front of a crowd and it was so much fun to watch her!

Jessica took a hip hop class.  Jessica has a definite love for dance and she did a wonderful job! We are so proud of our dancing girls!

Yesterday was a one of those busy days that feel good when all is said and done!  I got multiple batches of laundry done and folded, the office and kitchen de-junked, dinner prepared early in the afternoon and I made this...

I canned some Great Northern beans.  It was so easy and simple and they turned out perfect!(except I hadn't wiped my jars off before I took the pic). One of our favorite meals is White Chicken Chili.  I have canned chicken, canned green chili's and now the beans!  

Lunch When the Big Kids are at School!!!

Every day, lunch is pretty much the same at our house.  I'm not a big fan of the television.  We just don't watch all that much of it - especially during the day. The TV is never on during breakfast or dinner, but lunch is another matter. Barney is on at 12:00 every day and Garrett and Emily love to eat lunch in front of the TV.  They put a towel down on the floor and they have a little picnic.  I put their cups in a little dish so they won't spill and off they go!

Saturday Riding!

Saturday riding was perfect!  We went out to our favorite "play" spot in the desert for a few hours of relaxation!  It was a blast!!!

Saturday was Em's first time on our little quad!  She was soooo excited!
